About us

Our names are Ali and Rachel and we have 3 basset hounds, Isabella, Florence and Dolly and a naughty wire haired dachshund called Ted! Originally from Burton on Trent, Rachel worked for over 40 years at HSBC, and Ali and the bassets all worked at Nottingham Vet School with great pride for many years, but we knew that a new lifestyle awaited! We have spent many years going on holiday in the UK staying at dog friendly self-catering accommodation, and as dog owners, we understand what is important for a great stay. So these thoughts have led to a new and exciting adventure in stunning West Wales…

We bought Bronwydd and its accompanying little cottage  in the middle of the coronavirus lockdown in April 2020 and finally moved into Bronwydd in June 2020. Since then we have worked really hard to decorate and fully refurbish the beautiful cosy holiday cottage and rename it Clare Cottage. With it’s grand opening in August 2020, we have already welcomed many wonderful guests, with or without their dogs and they have had a fabulous, relaxing stay.

Since moving to stunning West Wales, Ali has become a keen/slightly obsessed amateur photographer and all the photographs on this site are taken by her!

About the cottage

Clare Cottage is a beautifully presented cosy, centrally-heated cottage situated at the rear of our house, located in a rural hamlet called Pennant, which is a five-minute drive to the coast. Aberaeron is the nearest seaside town, and is absolutely beautiful. Red kites fly over the garden all year round and are stunning to watch.

Features

  • There is a large enclosed grassed garden with a patio area complete with picnic table.
  • It has a private enclosed decking area, accessable directly from the cottage doors – a lovely suntrap.
  • Very well equipped kitchen, including a fridge, dishwasher, microwave, oven with hob and a dining table and chairs.
  • The lounge has a log burner (with a basket of logs included), TV with an Amazon Firestick, DVD player, lots of books and DVDs.
